Some Common Questions..

What are the Payment Options?

Pay for your installation by either credit card, debit card or Paypal when you request a booking through our online portal. If you’re installing 6+ fans, simply use the quick quote form via the portal to receive a quote within approx 1-2 working days. The above pricing is only for installations which meet the terms and conditions outlined above. If your installation requires additional work (examples above), you will incur additional costs. If this is the case, your electrician will inform you prior to commencing work. You will make payment directly to the electrician.

What’s the turnaround for installation & what happens once I pay for the service?

In most locations, it takes 1-2 days for our portal to match you with an electrician qualified for your job. Once the portal matches you with an installing electrician, you will receive an email with their contact details. Response times in metropolitan areas (eg. Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane) are likely to be quicker than those regional, rural or remote areas where there are less tradespeople available. PLEASE NOTE: Although we do everything we can to ensure the swift and safe delivery of your order, we cannot guarantee delivery times. For this reason, we suggest that you wait until your fans arrive before you contact the electrician assigned to your job. If your fans have not arrived by the time your electrician arrives to install them, they will not be able to commence work and you will incur a futile fee.

What happens if something goes wrong with the installation or the fan does not work?

All of the fans we list come with a manufacturer’s express “in-home warranty”, which requires that they are installed by a qualified electrician. The online booking portal will connect you with a tradesman with all the qualifications and licenses needed to protect the in-home warranty on your fan. The in-home warranty means that where appropriate, the manufacturer arranges for a technician to bring the replacement parts to you, test the faulty product and either repair or replace it on the spot. PLEASE NOTE: if you believe your fan is faulty after it’s been installed DO NOT take the fan down. Instead, contact either Fansonline or the manufacturer immediately. If your electrician is still on site when you experience a fault with your fan, they can call the manufacturer’s warranty line to troubleshoot the installation over the phone. Although you may prefer to use the manufacturer’s warranty to service to handle a claim, you are not obligated to do so. You also have the option of forwarding your warranty claim to us (Fansonline) for assistance.

What if I need to Cancel my Installation request?

Cancelling your request between the time you make payment and arranging a date with the installing electrician will result in a refund minus a $15 cancellation fee. (This small fee covers the cost of transaction fees and the administrative tasks associated with cancelling a request). If the electrician arrives on site and cannot complete the job, you may be charged a futile fee of $110. Examples of circumstances where you may be charged a futile fee include:

  • The product is not available at the installation site
  • The customer is not available at the installation site
  • The installation site does not match the customer’s description
  • The customer does not accept additional charges
